The 12 Keys

Key of Binding

This is the first of the 12 Keys players needed to find before the 6th and final contract can be had.

Twelve locks, twelve keys

The Puzzle

SOTM updated their site stating that the First key would be in Boston, during ARGFest '08.

On July 19th, players noticed that inside their registration packet there was a pamphlet that said to go to http:www.whatisthisgame.com/boston , a page that's title reads "I have what you're looking for", and shows a picture of thehost. Under the picture, is says FIND ME.

Players in Boston found him on July 19th!! Each player was given a golden key with his/her name on it, by telling the host their in game name!!
When they returned to their hotels, they each had a package waiting with a JoinMyLegacy T-shirt, business card with a webpage link, and a CD containing a new movie.

The Solution

2 days later, thehost told us this:

My employer has granted me permission to give you the clue to the first key's location.

thetiethatbinds

this pointed to the page:

http://www.whatisthisgame.com/thetiethatbinds

here we were treated to a new puzzle and link:

Congratulations, you have found the first key.

Don't get too full of yourself because the others have had a 48 hour head start. It goes without saying that you should keep what you know to yourself. All of the remaining keys can be found in the digital world, and I have left you the necessary clues to find them. I'd get to work because you have some catching up to do.

An Evil Wild Mire

www.yekrorrimeht.joinmylegacy.com

Magnet0 realized that "An Evil Wild Mire" was an anagram of:

William R. DeVine

The Mirror Key

the last puzzle gave us a link to http://www.yekrorrimeht.joinmylegacy.com

The Puzzle

the new Join My Legacy webpage simply reads:

YYJW LCPG CPMXPXPC PCPS PYSJYL DPZO

The Solution

being the Mirror Key, the puzzle needed to be reversed, and then ROTed to read:

Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?

These are the lyrics to Pink Floyd's "VERA" (the wall)
this clue leads us to a new page:

http://www.whatisthisgame.com/vera.html

This page contains the new video "Through the eyes of the beholder: part two"

The players who were present for ARGfest '08 then told us wich film they were given 2 days ago.;)

paradox noticed on 8/7/08, that Will Findem's 8/6/08 article had a link pointing us to http://www.yekrorrimeht.joinmylegacy.com/nnlyarev
it reads:

Seye Erih Nac Sniwt

yekdnocesehtdnoufevahuoysnoitalutargnoc
rettamgnihgualoneblliwdrihtehtgnidnif
starcotsiraehtfoecnamrofrepegatstneceratisahromur
tenretniehtnodekaelsahybbucnwoyrevruoyb

Magnet0 noticed the whole paged was mirrored to read:

Twins Can Hire Eyes

congratulations you have found the second key
finding the third will be no laughing matter
rumor has it a recent stage performance of the aristocrats
by our very own cubby has leaked on the internet

Darkhuman anagramed

Twins Can Hire Eyes

into

Christina Sweeny

The Jester's Key

This is the current key…

The Puzzle

the last key told us that Cubby has an aristocrats performance on the internet.

Darkhuman found it at: http://www.whatisthisgame.com/aristocrats/
This is only the audio for this classic joke. However, he does speak of a "KEY" in his performance.

The Solution
