"And so it begins…" says the host. So far many things have happened since the beginning of the stage and i am playiong catch-up lately. "You do not want to make my employer angry. Your first task will become clear soon enough. The rest is up to you". Let us keep this in mind as we progress. Well, enough with the intro and stay vigilant.
Stage One
For those who need to find the link to the forums, here it is for stage one. This seems to be the place to grab hints, and there are alot of hints. Also, make sure you tune in to the IRC (Chat Solutions; #whatisthisgame). We need to keep in contact realtime, that is how everyone besides tetra found thedailystalker so fast.
Task 1: And so it begins…
The Puzzle
At midnight of New Years Eve, the task changed on the stat page so now the teaser is posted, The task we have been put to is to find him. Along with the teaser I have included the play by play given to us by eightarmstochokeu
The 'What Is This Movie?' teaser starts with kudos to the SOTM and GL teams. It breaks into video with whats looks to be a first perosn shot of someone opening a manilla envelope in an apartment alleyway.
As the person pulls some paper out of the envelope, we can see that the paper is stapled [SPEC] (a manuscript for the film?). There is a title for the paper and it is 'WHAT IS THIS MOVIE?' Quickly, the letters 'ULTIONIS' are superimposed over ''AT IS THIS'' in green.
The parer is pushed back into the envelope and the person moves forward. A large lightning bolt , accompanied with a heavy roar, is shown curiously twisted into the shape of the letters 'COMA'.
The person in the video continues forward, but wuickly looks to the left and the right. There is a stairwell before them and as they ascend we see a sign on the wall which reads…

TRUCKSAs the person enters the door, there continue downstairs where we see an intersection of doors. There are two small signs on the wall reading 'DEATH' on the left and 'WORSE' on the right. Quickly, we can see 'PEDASTOL' superimposed in white over 'DEATH' and 'CELEBRITAS' over 'WORSE".
THe person focuses on the sign on the left with 'DEATH' as looks at the door on the left. THen the person looks at the sign on the right and the door on the right. Left, right, and finally choose the door on the right which correspondes to 'WORSE'.
A slowly moving camera pans up to what looks to be the back of a chair in a small room. The light is directed at the chair but we see a shadow of some humanoid figure to the right of the chair. The scene finishes with website address for …

The Hints
There are so many for this one that I will bullet point:
- If you look on the What is this Game? personal stat page, it is seen that in the message from the host that some random letters are capitalized. These when put together spell out stalker.

24 hours have passed now. My employer wants you all to know that not everything you see is to be used right away. Quote:

The Solution
Tetravus found the site: http://www.thedailystalker.com. From there, eightarmstochokeu found that by clicking on the Classifieds section, the employer's symbol was there. From that, you can login your username and get credit for also finding the site. Tetravus recieved 25 points for his find, eightarmstochokeu recieved 15 for her find, and everyone else 10 points.

The Solution
Naughtbutaservant found the answer:

After finding the answer to the last riddle, thehost as well as Mister Willson sent a letter to The Daily Stalker again. In this however, he proposed a new taske for us:

No hints were given for this riddle. To solve you need to transfer these numbers to letters and ROT them.
The Solution
Tygr20 found how to solve the code, earning 25 points. Everyone else got 15 points. To break the code, first you need to transfer this to letters making:

Act of Faith
The Puzzle
Upon entering JML you recieve your first reward, a video from Mister Willson.
In this video, he assigns a new task. Mister Willson asks you to perform an "act of faith". The host then elaborated on it by saying:
My employer is lonely and could use a friend. If you want to know who my employer is and where to find him, all you have to do is ask yourself the right question.
Get it right, and you will face your first real world challenge. You have yet to find or face a guardian.
You passed once again the time challenge, so no penalties will be assessed. My employer is grateful you are as supportive as you are. But a warning to those who don't. You don't stand a chance in hell of stopping him.
Therefore we were sent to find the host.
The Hint

Djrbk through guessing and checking was the first to find the website. The question being asked is "who is mister willson" so the website found is
This led to Mister Willson's website which is the first act of faith. He also got 10 points for finding it.

You have found my employer. He wants to let you all know that by displaying his calling card proudly and befriending him, you have shown him an act of faith. There is one more step in completing your act of faith. This personal challenge is coming in just a few short days. My employer is incredibly busy preparing for what is to come and is awaiting his target number of players in the process.
Your status, tasks, and scores will be updated upon contact from my employer and your challenge will then be presented. You must have completed all tasks beforehand and be on "An Act of Faith" in order to advance any further.
Challenge 1: Act of Faith
The Task
Mister Willson put out this challenge to all of the individual players to do themselves via his myspace page:
Our number will grow. This I can promise you. Your act of faith is noted. I ask for one more to seal the deal. This is your Stage One Challenge, and since it is the first stage, I will make it easy on you.
You are to build your own version of my calling card. Once constructed, you are to take it to your local movie theater. Your objective, to take a picture of yourself in front of the theater with my calling card somewhere in the picture preferrably somewhat hidden. Here's the catch. You need to do this without drawing a considerable amount of attention to yourself or getting law enforcement involved, and the picture should look natural and not forced. I will award bonus points for creativity and for getting in the marquee or names of the movies. //
//Whether or not you choose to actually see a movie while you are there is up to you entirely. When you have achieved this, e-mail me the picture to the e-mail address below and I will unlock your first guardian. This is not a timed event and I'm more interested in your ability to be creative and improvise. Your Host will give you a detailed explanation later this evening. //

My employer has accepted those who wished to support him and laid out your first challenge. For those of you who have MySpace names that are different from your user name need to send me a message giving BOTH your user name for the game & MySpace to update your tasks. They will be updated over the next couple of days. Your scores will be updated at the end of this challenge and an explanation will be given as to how these scores were calculated. I have been keeping track of everything. Stage One is nearing completion and your first guardian is just around the corner as is your first contract.
EDIT: In order to complete this challenge and get credit for it, you must have completed all previous tasks including An Act of Faith.
It can not be a photoshop or computer generated picture and it needs to be a physical construction of the calling card and should be able to be made out in the picture. Not a picture of it. You actually need to go to a theater with your creation and have a picture taken.
No size requirements, however the picture should show the symbol clearly and you should be able to make it out along with yourself. Creativity = points, this is why there is no time limit. My employer will display his favorites. 3-D representations only, it must be constructed.
Magnet0 was the first person to Complete the challenge, earning 50 points.
AmberJayne came in 2nd, earning 25 points.
Wrongway came in 3rd, earning 15 points, everyone else recieved 10 points.
Stage One Guardian
thehost informed us when we had compleded the Act of Faith:
Tomorrow morning at 8 AM EST, for those of you who have completed "Price of Admission", the first Guardian will be unlocked.
Full details will be revealed at 8 AM. Scores for the last several tasks will be computed and disclosed Monday, including a full explanation on the scoring process for all of Stage One.
Alternate Challenge
thehost then presented us with this message right before the Guardian was unlocked for the players that did not complete the Act of Faith challenge:
Here is your alternate challenge. You will be able to get the minimum points required for the challenge and get the guardian unlocked by completing one of the options presented by my employer below.
Option One
In your MySpace Page, post a 75-100 word bulletin to all of your friends explaining why my employer should except you.
Option Two
Convince 3 other players to "sponsor" you, who have completed the challenge. This would require having the three players send me a PM.
Complete either of these two options and the first Guardian will be unlocked.

Each player had 20 seconds to answer each question, and needed to answer 11 correctly in a row to pass the Stage One Guardian. One wrong answer would lock that player out of the Guardian for 24 hours.
AmberJayne was the first to defeat him, earning 25 points. Everyone else recived 10 points.

My employer is pleased with your submissions and is posting his favorites. There have been several creative sumbissions so far, but he requires more to unlock the guardian of Stage One.
There are also about a dozen of you who have completed the "Act of Faith" but have not identified yourselves. I will post a list of these tomorrow if you have yet to respond.
You need to complete each and every task in order to win the game and the grand prize. Remember this. My employer has one left before he begins and it is coming soon.
After defeating your first Guardian, you will receive a two week break. This does not mean that things won't be happening, but you will not have any specific tasks for two weeks. There may be puzzles you still need to solve, but this will be the rule after each stage. Also you will serve time penalties during these breaks.
What gains you a penalty you may ask? You will find out sooner than you truly want.
One more before I begin. I hope you are prepared. In the next Stage, I begin to turn up the difficulty. Enjoy your first guardian my friends.

Upon Defeating the guardian, each player is presented with their own Stage One Contract. Reciving one means the player has reached the end of the First Stage, or so it would appear!
When the Stage One Contract is recieved, the player's profile is updated to "Mysdyrection", that just leads back to The Daily Stalker. This is the last stage one task.

To those of you who have bested my employers first guardian, congratulations. You only have 5 more to go. The Guardians are an individual task, and every player must complete it, just as every player had to complete the Price of Admission task in order to advance.
You have earned your two week break. The break will end on February 11 and Stage Two will officially begin. One last task needs to be finished and if you have been paying attention, you should know what it is, when it is coming, and why it is so important, or it could just be mysdyrection.
